Subject: $40/Ton Corn Stalks. Buy or Bale?


NW IA		Local auction reports corn stalks selling for 30-45 $/ton.

I think I have enough bean straw and corn stalk bales to get to fall, but I am thinking about making a few as insurance before it gets wet here.

I'm pretty sure I will be using bean straw (that I usually feed) as bedding when the corn stalks run out.

What would be your line in the sand price between buying and baling your own?
