Landoll will have a much better chance than the finisher. Don’t even waste your time trying to take the finisher through standing stalks. I have the same tillage equipment you mentioned. I disk stalks in the fall and hit them with the landoll in spring and it leaves a perfect seedbed.
The fall disking leaves enough loose dirt for the vt tool to pin the shucks into the ground. You will probably be able to run the stalks through the vt just fine but all those shucks are going to end up in the nearest fence row or ditch.
