| The Perkins loans were ended in the mid 2010's I believe the Stafford loan still is ongoing I believe. If you have either of them still you are expected to continue to repay them.
Edit to add:: the Perkins loan ended in 2017 it appears.
Student loans should not be forgiven, but the interest rates on them should be set 1% below what a 60 year old farmer can get a grain bin loan at.
