| Guy I rent all my pasture from has a 51 acre hay meadow I would like to rent. He was getting 75-85 bucks an acre last year. Previous renter gave it up and landowner wants to have his own crew put up the hay and sell it himself. I told him I would like to rent it and he said I could shoot him an offer. I’m not exactly sure amount of bales it produces but the previous renter once told me 90-120. My question is how much is to much rent to pay to where I’d be better off just buying more hay instead of putting it up myself. Landowner jokingly said “well 2-300” would be a good number.
