Sorry to be so slow to respond. I have been swamped but I did a little investigation tonight and tracked down some articles describing enhanced corn root growth following both legumes and brassicas. I also skimmed an article about PRIMER PLANTS, a term used by researchers in Australia to describe plants that do the best job of preparing the soil for a subsequent crop. I will post some more info soon.
