Sunnyvale, CA | I would have thought that when the resistor upgrade is made, the service supplier will test the unit first to make sure it works properly and do a complete final test after the resistor upgrade.
From the symptoms you have, it appears that there might be a shorted transistor or capacitor in the controller or a short in the cable. Make sure the short is not the cable by disconnecting the cable at the EZ-Steer controller and keeping the cable connected to the motor. If the drag from the motor goes away when you disconnect the cable at the controller, then the problem is in the controller. If the drag persists when the cable is disconnected at the controller, then there is a short in the cable between pins 1, 2, 3 and 4 in the cable, and replacing the cable is all you need to do.
Chad at AgExpress might be able to find and repoace the defective part in the controller if the unit is out of warranty. | |
