Efforts to get people to eat Asian carp have not succeeded. Folks generally turn their noses up at the thought of eating carp, even though the Asian carp is said to be good for eating.
Deer are a common pest now, but years ago, they were almost hunted to extinction for their meat and hides. Then things changed... Maybe it was the Bambi movies.
