S Illinois | RD is definitely not needed to meet sulfur content requirements and never has been. Also are you arguing because there is good margin in cracking crude oil, the oil companies will decide to loose money by blending RD? They won’t unless mandated or incentivized.
This isn’t anything like ethanol and the oxygenate requirements, ethanol can fulfill. Blending 10% biodiesel or renewable diesel doesn’t clean up the other 90% of conventionally produced diesel of its sulfur. | |
