| A close relative, 21 months younger than me, is in what I would guess is stage 6 of the 7 stages of Alzheimers. He worked for the US Forest Service with most of his work being done outdoors. He was never really overweight although he did smoke for a portion of his life (peer pressure as older co-workers were mostly smokers). His preferred form of recreation was riding motorcycles, atvs, utvs and snowmobiles. He got a lot of exercise walking, even to the point that after going into a nursing home, he liked to go for walks. He is married, has two daughters and three grandchildren. I never married and live pretty much like a hermit, often going 10 days or more alone. I get a little unhappy when so-called experts explain how to keep from getting dementia. | |
