I would think it would depend on the age of the Google Earth photo vs if the field boundaries have been modified. For instance, removing a tree line. GE often shows shadows from tall trees that would affect the boundary that is no longer there if trees are removed. Same w/building sites or having added waterways, filter strips, etc.
