NC IA | This is the case even if you apply zero N. I've scene it for 3 years on the sustainability test plot our local conservation agronomist runs. It's the existing nitrate in the top 10-12 inches moving down, not the NH3 you apply. If you run a fall nitrate test with 24" cores and then go pull cores in May in the same spot you will see the leaching. Fall applied ammonia has nothing to do with it. | |
