EC SD | Regarding stock market - yes I was buying a bit more today (not a lot though) despite the new all time high today...
Sounds stupid or at least risky, but JPM Asset Management recently shared a bit of insight on buying the SP500 at all time highs, by analyzing market data since 1988.
In a rising market there are perhaps dozens of days where the market makes new all-time highs in a single year. Some years none of course. On average, buying on a day which is the new all-time high has outperformed buying on other days which are not new all-time highs. One-year returns for purchases made on the all-time high days average 13.7% vs 11.9% for purchases on the non-all-time high days.
Hmmm -- what about that old saying to buy low and sell high? I guess the data is showing that is good, but better yet is to buy high and sell higher. :)
Personally feel we should get a pull back soon, but the stock market does what it likes and right now it wants to go higher!! | |
