Cherokee iowa | I’m thinking about buying 40 very young heifers of good genetics. Get me a big ole hereford bull in a year and keep the calves. If rates drop pry not the best idea. But with low overhead I’d survive. If rates rise they would be a nice place to store money for mid term. Idk what color I want the herd to be? I agree current prices are not building the herd. Some cow guys will need to hold some back for tax purposes going forward I’m guessing. Could be a long slow build. | |
