Fear that this is the future for the high plains dust bowl area, and maybe all of ag a few decades after the low rain areas.
There just isn't many people left out here in these dying towns, and most of the farmers are about to age out, and no to very few heirs to take over.
The heirs don't want to take over, they want to move to town and work for someone else. Some that want to take over can't do what it takes to run the farm. |
