If there is a company in your area that offers good support, go with them. If you don't know who is good, ask around and find out. I sure wouldn't try to cobble a system together out of used pieces if you are completely new to precison ag. Buy a system, let someone who knows what they're doing set it up and support you until you understand it. Then once you are hooked and want to put stuff in other tractors, you can go the cheap route if you want to.

FWIW I have agleader and I am very happy with it, but have nothing else to compare it to. Everyone I know either uses AL because the guy that handles it is awesome, or they are green underwear wearers and use JD.
