Burlington, IA | Not trying to contradict you, but I did as you suggested. I Googled Prairie Hybrids, and although I didn't find a website, I did find a Power Point presentation on them. According to it, although it sounds like they raise their own seed production, which isn't unknown even now, the Power Point said that they access multiple sources of germplasm. Although they may have a breeding program, it didn't really say, it does kind of shoot down the idea that they have their own breeding program, and use only their own material in their breeding program and product line. I said those days are pretty much gone, not nonexistent. There may be smaller companies out there with breeding programs, but nowadays, to use your own material exclusively, with no accessing of other genetic sources, is extremely rare.
