Subject: RE: old days and old combines

nw pa

first combine i can remember was a MH clipper number 50 I think. Dad bought it new and unassembled. took me three of us all summer to put it together at the dealers. Was a good combine for the day, Dad got a stiff neck every year the first few days, Made him a bear to be around.Especially when me and the brother would walk around with our fake stiff neck.Don't think he ever saw the humor in it.

Had an 82 Massey that I did some custom work with.Sold it to and older fella that wanted his own. Asked me to come down every year for three years and get it ready.Sure was glad when my time was up.  Good guy just was old enough he thought the 82 was too "new fangled for him".

Moved to a 410 Massey, good combine for the time, then a 550. still a good combine for us. Have heard a lot of bad things about a Massey but can honestly say they were good to us.

Moved to a green one now. Figured if I didn't like it somebody out there would love it.
