Rivers, MB | Not too many sheds have been put up in our area recently. I think that if you get too wide and long, it starts to become inefficient unless you are storing really big equipment in there such as an airseeder and air cart. Especially if you have doors on just one end. If you have too many ranks of machinery parked in the shed, it takes a lot of moving stuff just to get at something in the back. Or you end up leaving an alley way up and down the center which can be an inefficient use of space if it just sits empty. too narrow can be a problem as well. We find that a 60' is a nice width. Combines on one side, 4WD's and sprayer on the other side and that leaves just enough room down the center for 2 rows of trucks/semis/narrower tractors. Door on both ends and everything is very accesible. Next shed will probably be 80' wide with a door on the side and big (40' plus) door on the one end. | |
