Subject: RE: Ipaq, fancy phone, or ?

North central North Dakota

I have an Ipaq 3955 that is still going strong for me.  I have been using it in an Otterbox on the ATV and also use it with Guidemate in one of the tractors.  I liked the Ipaq for entering data with Trace Mate and also used Excel and Word a lot on it.  The problem was that I was in the tractor a lot during the summer.

Last month I upgraded my cell phone to a Utstarcom PPC6700 through Alltel.  It is a Windows Mobile 5.0 unit that I bought off of ebay.  It was cheaper this way than renewing my contract and buying new.  Now I will leave the Ipaq for tractor guidance and now use the PPC for TracMate applications as well as my Excel and Word.  I can sync it very easily with my Outlook program also.  Because it has built in wifi it has been handy to use when finding hotspots at motels, shopping centers and restaurants.  The bluetooth is real nice ( I use a Plantronics 510) which could also be used with a bluetooth GPS if I wanted to.

I have been happy with my WM5 unit so far.  Now only carry one device.
