North Western Alberta
I will tell you this. I, after four years of farming, am convinced that I know LESS than I knew when I started. I got back from a short hollerday on July 5th. It was still black dirt, with a few spindly canola plants. My wheat was short and not doing anything. We got rain... and heat. I kid you not... 12 days later, the canola was in bloom, and filling in. I now have the best crops I have ever had. I cant figure it out, how a crop can grow that fast. Mind boggling. I dont think my yeilds will be stellar, and I think Im about two weeks late... but if we dont get an early frost up here, I think I might pay the bills this year.

I now know.. you just put the seed and fertilizer in the ground, the best you can.. and then its all up to god or mother nature or whatever you believe in.

An early frost will hammer us though.
