Subject: juiceman - crank damper pulley adapter machine process

juiceman, you posted on a thread I had earlier on about putting a pulley on the front of an 875 Versatile on here.

You mentioned you had someone make the assembly because you didn't know if it needed to be balanced or not. I talked to our local machine shop and they didn't sound like they had any sort of balancing procedure. They said it would be very precisely machined, but as far as weight was concerned they didn't have any means of ensuring it was balanced other than it would be perfectly symmetrical. How did you get this accomplished with yours? Is a perfectly symmetrical assembly good enough? Thanks.

If anyone else has any input on sticking something on the front end of the crank of an 855 Cummins, let me know. Thanks.
