Shaftsbury, Vermont (SW VT)
Older 6x00 and 6x10 tractors had approx. 1/4" hose on the return line and spliced it to 5/16" to connect to the tank. The supply line is 5/16" all the way. These sizes are approximate-----they are metric sized hoses.
That said; replace the fabric covered hose with good automotive fuel line, and replace the spring clamps with small worm clamps. Add a check valve AL117189 in the supply line to prevent drainback and hard starting(blow through it before you put it in to be sure it's open and to be sure of the right direction).
Using neoprene fuel line and adding the check valve will help a lot in curing hard starting tractors.
