Subject: Ed Hit the Nail.............

Schlegel Farms, Hagerstown Indiana
.............Right on the head with the statement "Watch out, addictive sport!".

I messed with it for about fifteen years. Started with a 4020 that I farmed with, then pulled the AC in the picture in the mid 70's, and then a friend and I built a 1066. It was a lot of fun but the costs just kept going up-up -up. Started out using old pistons and sleeves left from overhaul jobs...get em cut, add some value relief put them in and away we went. At the end were buying pistons and sleeves out of Chicago at $600 a hole. Paid around $2000 tops for a turbo back them...over 10K now for machined housing, pinned wheels etc.

I still enjoy watching, but I don't want to work that hard trying to get the farm work done and still have time to play (to many nights in the shop till wee early morning)....even with out the cost.
