mocorn - 6/12/2023 11:14 long time QB user here. I've just been biting the bullet and paying the increasingly exorbitant fees but I'm about to my limit. I bought the last non subscription version of Desktop; QB 2021. It will expire next year. If I give up the payroll part(considering Payroll 4 free) I believe I can keep using the rest of the program indefinitely. What I'm not clear on is after QB expires can I keep downloading my bank statements into QB or will I have to go back to all manual entry? As long as I'm asking for info do any of you have experience with Payroll 4 Free? TIA

Do you have many employees ?  If not, don't pay for the upgrade, it is not worth it.  Just enter things yourself.
