Avoid using a platform at all cost. I had to harvest some corn in 1977 after a bad hail storm using a platform & it sucked. Was really hard on the head & the combine. Not only do you run a lot of trash through but I had trouble pulling stalks out by the roots and ran a lot of dirt thru as well..
