I follow your reasoning but on some RoGators that would not be necessary, since the outside switch "took over" and allowed the operator to do that outside the cab. When loaded, he did have to remember to flip the switch back to the normal position to resume spraying. Maybe that "fill switch" was an option or only available on certain models.
