Ayr Queensland Australia 4807 | From the post below about cleaning welding magnets touched on wearing safety glass or not wearing them. Over the years working around farms repairing tractors I have seen many people using grinders, hammers, punches and drift without using safety glasses.
Why do people risk eyesight when working on equipment you can easily damage your eyesight? We use to go though safety glasses at least one set each a month however we have been lucky as we have no dirt metal in our eyes, my son being of the internet savvy found some safety glasses used by the military they were expensive now after 12 months of using them we still have the same set not scratched, not broken and we use them every day. I know two mechanics in this area lost an eye due to no safety glasses being worn one a piece of bearing come off when pulling the bearing the other using a wire buff on a grinder. What I see is biggest complaint is the glasses get scratched and are hard to see out of so people tend not to use them.
My two cents worth there is glasses that will not scratch
