Unless you have already, I would first check the connections after the battery.........particularly the ground on the frame or engine. I know they put some stupid safety switches in the starting wiring. From what you have said about not being able to get out of PARK, makes me think there is a safetly switch in the column that would tell the computer not to let it start unless in PARK.... Before today, were you able to start in nuetral or did it have to be in PARK.

Kinda like in my truck, I used to have to push the clutch in before it would start... got rid of that switch.

Also, before I ordered a service call, talk to dealer's service manager and ask if this is a common issue with an easy fix.... you never know.
