SW Saskatchewan | Back in the 50's and 60's an extension was marketed for auger combine tables that extended the cutter bar forward allowing the reel to be brought down to sweep the cutter bar.
Hard to believe but prior to the 80's, combine reels would strike the table auger before they could be brought back far enough to sweep the cutter bar. Modern tables have this cutter bar extension as a standard design feature.
Anyway, a combiner's tip of the hat to anyone who ran a Massey 90 in a short crop without a Love bar.
But maybe there are some wheat growers from land that shouldn't have been left to grass! (Grin). | |
