| I seeded Benchmark from Southern States last fall.It is an early maturing variety.We put on N on 3/1/09 and cut on4/25/09.It made 2.5 4 by5 bales per acre.It hadnt headed out and was still short but I needed the hay.This hay tested 120 rfv.I am not sure but think the imature blade growth has mor to do with the date you put on N than the early or late variety.Also taking a chance on a late freeze puting on N that early,but I think worth it here. | |
