| Typically we have this problem behind the tire tracks of the combine. It seems to help to let the straw "settle" a day or two and it seems to be easier to cut. Also like scott says, set the planter a little deeper and bump your population 25% because they never all get in the ground soon after harvest. We also never run at night or early in the morning as the straw is tougher from the dew. Good rule of thumb is, if it is too tough to cut wheat, it is too tough to plant the beans. | |
