| Interesting you should mention Lightning. That's pretty much why I posted this question because I was hoping to add it to the short list of options for next year.
In the interest of full dislosure, Ignite (glufosinate) was actually used and had pretty much zero effect on the cane. I must admit that there may have been extenuating circumstances which caused the Ignite to not work. For instance, it was in a tank (already mixed) for at least a week waiting for the rain to stop and drops were used, so I'm not sure it got a fair shake. I would have expected something from Ignite, but no.
