A single pass through a filter isn’t THAT effective. The best cellulose filter media has a beta ratio of about 60 on a pressure side of a gear pump and worse on a diaphragm pump. Suction side beta goes higher maybe up into low 80’s.

Beta is a term used for filter efficiency. If a filter has a micron ration of 10um and and a 60 beta it captures 60% of the 10um particles passing through. If you can kidney loop and pas fuel through 3-4 times you can really polish up your fluid. If I had a bulk tank I would put an electric pump on that pulled through a 10um water separator and pushed fuel through a 4um filter and then back into the tank. Let it run based on pump flow long enough to pump the entire volume of the tank 4x. On a transfer tank just put a 4um filter on outlet of pump for a single pass before filling whatever
