central sask
A LITTLE more advanced!!!! The few acres of it we have this year were seeded May 20th or so and will be a good week from heading. Ours does look as even and maybe a bit thicker. There are not many acres in around here, about 1/2 of normal and some doesn't look like it will make 10 bpa!
We still use 1/2 to full rate of Puma mixed with Buctril M(full rate) and 2-4 oz/acre of MCPA ester 500. No crop injury yet in 15 years. If its a dry /hot year or no wild oats or millet/green foxtail we will use Target/Sword instead. I think if the Can $ stays around 90 cents US the Canary prices will rally over 30 cents (got a call Friday, broker offering 24 at the bin for Aug 1) and Should test 40+ if the production is western Sask is as low as many think.
What variety is that? We still grow Keet here as non of the newer "itch less" ones will yield (often less than 1/2) if it is dry.
