Are you possibly referring to the "Smart7-S" receiver?
The -S means it is a NovAtel SPAN system, which means it contains an inertial sensor that is tied to the GNSS receiver. It uses an Epson G320 IMU for the inertial data. It does tilt and roll without moving, but it does require you drive for roughly 50 feet to calibrate the inertial heading to the actual heading. After the IMU is calibrated, you can drive under a bridge, along trees, etc, and the IMU will continue to produce position data even if the satellites are unavailable. It's pretty cool technology.


Apparently there are two versions Smart 7 & Smart 7S which is the one you're referring to.
I can't remember which of the 2 they were talking about, but the techie said that he could set A-B line without any movement and I could not see how.
Now what I don't know about GPS, auto steering could fill the Queen Mary!
