Radville, SK | Thought I'd post a couple pictures showing the difference between Kyle and Strongfield durum in the Radville, Saskatchewan area. These 2 fields were seeded within 2 days of eachother, with the durum on each field being seeded mere hours apart.
Picture 1: Strongfield on the left, Kyle on the right. Seeded on a field that was previously alfalfa. Probably quite low on nitrogen
Picture 2: Again Strongfield left, Kyle right. You can just barely make out the line. This one isn't as distinct. This field has much more nitrogen available. It was in alfalfa for 5 years with no material, besides seed, removed from the field and last year it was seeded to flax.. This picture doesn't quite show the difference as it was earlier in the day than the first one I posted. Also shows what happens when you have 2 operators not knowing exactly where the other left off.
Anyways, just thought I'd post those for anyone that was curious about it! | |
