Central PA
I don't mind pace classes for the most part if they are a reasonable pace. In central PA a couple of groups do a 3 mph pace up 19,000# classes. It's fine for M's and 2 cylinders to putter along at 3 mph but way too slow for a 1066 or 4440 to get any momentum in my opinion. When most drivers lose traction they tend to really hit the throttle which scares me a little. I'm just waiting for something to grab and an engine part go flying. A similar event happened last year when the flywheel shattered (I think) on a Case 600, sending my wife to the hospital for a few stitches.

I like the clubs that tend to break apart classes by tractors by how they are set up. Stock classes must have working 3pt, PTO, factory pump and turbo, etc. Hot stock are stripped down (no PTO, 3pt) w/ a non-factory pump, turbo, etc. It seems to keep the classes somewhat competitive, although there are a fair share of guys in the stock classes that give the pump screws a couple of turns.
