Is anyone on here using or have experience using Xero for accounting?

My tax and accounting company highly recommended them. I talked with the lady in charge of accounting there and she said she’s used it since it came out 8 years ago and said she would help me convert my old quick books over to it and setup my accounts. It looks fine and doesn’t seem to be out of my price range.

Problem is it’s cloud based. For them, they could help me out anytime I need it. I would like to keep it on my computer.

Farm Credit paired with them and another company to try and make a user friendly accounting and farm tracking package a few years ago called Magnify. We tried it and ended up switching back to PC Mars as we just couldn’t get the reports and data out of that we or our accountant wanted.

That partnership only lasted a couple years and Farm Credit abandoned it.

I liked a lot of things about Xero and I think depending on how complicated your business is or how simple you want to get information and reports out will dictate it’s success for you.
