Northeast Louisiana | Out of those two choices I would keep looking. The electronic shift parts were getting hard to come by over 20 years ago. Unless, you can figure out something to retrofit on the electronics to keep it going.
The Steiger St270 has the Cat 3306. The 3306 is a very common engine, transmission are truck transmission, both the 270/280 has the 1010 transmission. A Steiger is basically built with semi truck parts. Most parts that I have purchased came from a Freightliner or Mack dealer.
Unless you’re needing more weight/horsepower the St 280 has the 855 in Cummins or 3406 in Cat. | |
