Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn. | Yes, the Versa will be able to work with section control by purchasing an Ag Leader Clutch Control Module. The Versa would need auto swath unlocked. Auto swath comes unlocked on the high end displays such as the Integra or InCommand 1200 but would need to be purchased for the Versa. This is a one time charge and will remain with the Versa for other operations that may need it such as section control on a sprayer.
A single Clutch Control Module can work with 2-12 sections. If more sections are needed then as many as three Clutch Control Modules can be connected together for a maximum of 36 sections. A section can be one or several rows. For example with our 24 row planter we use a single Clutch Control Module for 12-2 row sections. This means that every two rows are tied together and will cycle ON/OFF at the same time. There are many combinations of wiring harnesses available. The wiring harness you need will depend on the number of sections and rows per section.
At first thought, it may seem that having single row sections would be the best choice. This can be done but can come with some tradeoffs. When single row sections are used the GPS correction needs to be of high quality such as RTK. This is to prevent the system from inappropriately shutting off an outside row. To prevent this, sometimes the outer two rows are tied together as a pair with the inner rows as sections by themselves. So for example a 12 row planter might have 10 sections rather than 12.
You would also need either an Ag Leader Auxiliary Input Module and a switch box OR the Ag Leader SC110 CAN switch box. One or the other of these is needed in the tractor cab. They are functionally equivalent. Your choice of one or the other will depend on other factors and possible use in other situations.
The Versa does NOT have the capability of working with monitoring the seed although the Integra and InCommand 1200 could. This means you will need to continue to use the DJ monitor for seed monitoring.
The Versa would not have the ability to work with the air bags either. Personally we are exploring adding UP/DOWN force to our planter but this will be controlled manually with a non-Ag Leader device.
