I'm not sure what board he is using, the center blue one looks like it says Lego? and I assume that blue cable is his connection to laptop? If so, it looks like that board has a DC connector on the top left, if you want he could just send the code with the USB cable then use an appropriate wall wart AD/DC adapter.
