Well, I was hoping to avoid doing that as I've got the new ones installed! Would rather just screw in a bolt that fits on the two buggered holes.

If you only have 2 holes messed up, try a 10mm bolt. May work, may not, depending on how big the holes got.

We have had mixed success with using a "nut zert" to put a threaded insert in them. Did about 6 combines last fall with no issues, tried it on 2 this year and they both spit rolls out the back in about 5 hours. Not sure the difference in the machines yet, don't want to take one apart that's working.

We have also learned that the hole sizes in a new factory roll for anything other than an S series machine are too big to be tapped to 3/8-16 thread, you HAVE to use the self tapping bolts of the early combines. The are the perfect size to be tapped to M10x1.5 and we have started doing that on new rolls.
