NW Washington | A lot of the problem is that many big companies used "inflation" as a license to jack up prices and make record profits. And they gave Biden the middle finger when he asked them for moderation. There is no law against excessive profits. Here are a few numbers from the oil industry.
"For example, ExxonMobil pulled in nearly $20 billion in profit. Chevron took in more than $11 billion, Shell $9.5 billion, BP over eight billion. And, today, the world's largest oil company, Saudi Aramco, reported making $42 billion this quarter."
