"Here" is probably a lot different than your location, or somebody in North Dakota, because of the Mississippi River driving our soybean market.   But if you want the most consistent and predictable thing to put in a bin here, you will gain 40-75 cents of basis storing beans just a few weeks from gut slot of harvest to the end of river traffic when it freezes, or March when it starts again.  Corn fluctuates a lot more here, as most of those bushels are consumed locally by feeders/processors and if they are a little short they often give some basis incentive to land trucks on their scales earlier.
