Hooker Twp,Ne | Few years back when the solar eclipse was well seen here in se Nebraska. There were many people that came to our area to view. I drove around to visit with some. Along the road sat a gentleman from Canada. I stopped to visit and we had a couple beers together. As we were talking I noticed a slang in his voice. I asked if by chance he knew how to speak low German. ( Now there are 100s of different dialects of low German) Just like that he started to speak low German with me and Basicly the same dialect. We had a nice conversation in the low German tongue together. | |
