It can be done.
I switched a 1240 to Ag Leader. It read seed sensors (new sensors and harness were required), controlled sections and ran hydraulic drives.
We ran the planter for a couple of years with a PRO700. IMO, the 1200 is much easier to operate. If you haven’t used a PRO700 before, it’s a pretty steep learning curve.
