Never had this before. Have spider mites in corn. Seems worse under the irrigation pivot. Mites are present in middle 1/3 of canopy in places. Infestation varies through out the field. Corn is strong in R4 and have some denting. Corn has solid yield potential. Good stands, good N, good disease control. Just received 1.5” rain and temps going forward are in the 80’s. Do we treat the mites and throw in some fungicide?


We have mites almost every year. I sprayed most of my irrigated corn pre-tassel with Zeal.

If it's starting to dent I'd bet you outrun them.

There is harvest interval on the insecticides. Quick google says Oberon is 7 days.

They really go when it is 100 and the corn is stressed. I'm in a different part of the world, with maybe different expectations, but I'd let it go. As long as they don't get to the ear leaf, I think you'll be fine.
