Amity, Oregon | Here's my favourite. About 1996 my brother and I were on our way home from the Tulare
Ag show. About thirty miles north of Redding, California by Mt. Shasta the Ranger died. Coasted into a rest area. No spark, rotor came loose and broke the contact off. While I was trying to get a tow truck David rumaged through the tool box and found a crimp on wire terminal and stuck it in the rotor then folded a chewing gum wrapper to make the contact to the center distributer terminal. Put it together and off we went back to Redding. Made it to parts store for a replacement. That was about the useful life of a chewing gum wrapper rotor, it was just about burnt through. | |
