Subject: Re: Low Bridge fault

Sunnyvale, CA
there was an Design change for the EZ-Steer controller last year which addressed the Lower bridge fault problem on stiff steering tractors or tractors with an higher than normal alternator voltage. If you have not had your unit updated, then it might be helpful to send it to AgExpress. The change increased the trigger current threshold for issuing a lower Bridge fault. In the unmodified units the fault was too easily triggered. If you need to use the unit, first aid is to add about 50 feet of #18 ga wire in series with the positive lead, this extra wire limits the current flow to the unit, helping prevent the lower bridge fault from triggering. the permanent fix is the change that AgExpress does. When you sent it in to AgExpress, they will also change a capacitor that causes (in some units) the T2 Fault at power up that requires the unit to be restarted.n These problems show up no matter if it is the 250 or 500. Wiring directly to the battery makes the situation worse unless the 50 feet of #18 with is connecing to the battery.
