northeastern Ohio | I had a Speed Queen TR7. It started leaking water around the tub while under warranty. Took it to authorized repair center and they would not honor warranty due to the fact they found straw and dirt in the machine. Said it looked like I used it in a barn, which would be considered commercial use and void the warranty. It was never in a barn! It was in my house and was used to clean my clothes. Nope. No warranty. Cost $300 for repairs at 1.5 years of age.
The TR7 did a poor job of washing due to the design and didn't last long. TR5 is same design as TR7 with manual controls. I would not recommend buying either of these models.
I am told that the TC5 model has the better (original) design. If I ever decide to get another Speed Queen, I will try the TC5. https://speedqueen.com/products/top-load-washers/tc5003wn/?bvstate=p...
